PE at home

We are all aware that if young people feel energised and healthy, they have a far greater capacity to learn. Below is a list of online resources that will allow children to keep moving and aid their learning at home. Every day at 9 am from Monday 23rd Joe Wicks is going to share a PE session on You Tube that children can take part in if they like.

The following websites are also useful to help your children get active:

Premier League Primary Stars resources

https://plprimarystars.com/resources

BBC Super Movers

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers

A fun and active way to learn! The Super Movers initiative aims to promote simple and repeatable movements to compliment learning across core primary school subjects. They combine fun dances with catchy songs that the children will love to copy in their homes.

BBC Teach – Let’s Get Active

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/physical-education-ks1-ks2-lets-get-active/z72yjhv

A range of skills and challenges presented in a child friendly format. They will encourage creativity as parents and children try to recreate the challenges in their own home.

Change 4 Life

https://www.nhs.uk/change4life/activities/indoor-activities

Change 4 Life have teamed up with Disney to inspire young people to keep active indoors. Parents and children can follow the simple steps to perform a range of physical skills along with their Disney heroes from Lion King, Toy Story, Incredibles and more. The website also includes sports quizzes and recipe ideas for healthy eating.

On top of these, Youtube will have an abundance of videos which children can dance, jump, run and move along to.
